I get "SNAPpy Script Error: Unsupported type" when I try to save a string object using Portal 2.8.1 (where it now has the additional bitmask field). I left the bitmask field untouched (blank). This was also after installing firmware version 2.8.1 on the target node. Downgrading the firmware version on the target node gave the same result.
If I try older versions of Portal (2.6.6, 2.7.3, and 2.7.5), the command works fine on all OS versions tested (2.6.2, 2.7.1, 2.7.2, 2.8.1). The latest Snap OS documentation I could find (2.7) just says to leave the bitmask field blank when not storing an integer. The mouse-over tooltip for Portal 2.8.1 says the same if I mouse over the saveNvParam command. Am I doing something wrong?
